Duomo, Oristano
The cupola and camponile of the Duomo in Oristano.
Went to the Antiquo Arboreonese this morning, before emerging into the omnipresent heat and realising Oristano is a ghost town on the Sabbath.
Obviously, we were looking to catch at least some of the Wimbledon final, but we were advised we should seek Sky (TV) in one of the beachfront bars at the nearby Torregrande.
So off we trotted to get the bus (we have quickly become Sardinian bus Pros) and asked in every bar at the front, none of which had Sky. Except one. But of course, they didn't want to change it from the awful music channel they had it on.
So we came back to Oristano after several Ichnusas and checked the internet for the result and the highlights. Luckily our hotel (the rather lovely and much underservedly Trip Advisor-slated Porta Mari) gave us free Wi-Fi so we went to dinner all hyped up on Scottish Pride and Murray Mania.
Unfortunately, the mosquitoes were also excitedly active.
