Oh Dear!
I drove to my Mum's old house where I'm staying for a few days. I went to my late Aunr's flat this afternoon. Her flat is on the ground floor, and unfortunately, there has been an ingress of water through the kitchen ceiling from the flat above. There was a puddle of water on the floor, nasty water marks on the ceiling, and water pooling in the gas hob. I went to grab a spoon to make a coffee, and discovered the cutlery drawer was full of water.
I was reminded of a famous Monty Python sketch where armed with a dodgy Hungarian to English phrasebook, John Cleese visits a tobacconist and declares that his " hovercraft is full of eels" .
I spoke to one of the owners of the flat above, and she said she and her husband will try to find out where the water originated- from an appliance or rain draining off their balcony probably.
Weve just asked an estate agent to market the flat for us, which is awkward timing, with this leak!
