Cistus flower
I took this photo of a Cistus flower in my Mother's garden, early this morning, (as I guessed I wouldn't get much chance of a blip later), before I dashed off to my Aunty's flat to meet a heating engineer whom I had arranged to come to attend to a small fault with the boiler. He hadn't been there long, working on the boiler in the kitchen, when water started dripping through the ceiling, in two places. I raced upstairs to the flat above, where I discovered the owners had turned on their washing machine. QED- it was now clear to everyone that we had identified the cause of the earlier water leak!
Soon after the heating engineer departed, having fixed the problem, my Aunty's very good friend, A, popped over with a cake she had made for me and Martin, and we made a final agreement over some furniture we were having moved from the flat to her home, later today.
Then Martin arrived, having come by train, and we had a quick lunch, before the man and van came to collect the furniture. We spent the afternoon sorting out more clothes, books, and other textiles for the local charity shop and textiles bin. Then an EPC surveyor arrived to do a survey of the flat; some detective work was required to find the meters and it was fun discovering aspects of the flats we didn't know!
Finally got away about 6.30pm. Exhausted this evening, especially after a long phone call to my sister, but at least it's been a productive day.
