Raven

We drove into Amlwch hoping the copper mine museum would be open, it wasn’t and instead walked onto the Wales Coast Path looking for birds and butterflies.

The day was perfect for this glorious walk, first spotting a linnet, what a beauty followed by this raven, in fact there were two, they are big birds.  The walk was pleasant with others out there with the same idea, all of us looking out for dolphins, seals or harbour porpoise. We did see  plenty of gulls, a sandwich tern, another pair of linnets and a Large Skipper butterfly, sadly my photo is rubbish, the butterfly was a beautiful deep orange or copper colour.

A last minute decision was to have lunch in the local cafe near the harbour, we both had a goats cheese galette, a pleasant time sat in the sunshine mulling over the state of the world, partly revolving around the population of Russia, around 2022 approx 143,000,000 and other relevant stats that looked interesting within the conversation. And of course what is taking place in the UK.  Back to the dogs who are always pleased to see us or anyone else, they enjoyed a short romp on the front lawn and disappeared inside as we tended the vegetable patch. A hot sunny afternoon, perfect for sitting outside to read.

Extra is a poor long shot of a linnet and also of a geo clock. Geology on Anglesey through the ages.
