Birthday Girl

An interesting start to the day - I’d faffed with the Tesco app last night. At the same time MrRoly booked a delivery at home. Except my faffing had changed the delivery address and it turned up at Mum’s! The driver was lovely though and took it back once we explained.

Once showered and dressed we headed into Cambridge on the bus - 2 stops in, eldest niece got in and we enjoyed an entertaining journey with her and her friends!

We went to the Botanic Gardens - which I thought were lovely despite their flatness. Very glad we went. I intended to take Mum for lunch at an Italian she likes but it was heaving so we settled for a scotch egg, chips, curry sauce and a pint at The Pint Shop! Then back to the back station with a detour into John Lewis for cake.

A lazy afternoon followed until the others picked us up for tea at the Indian restaurant in the next village. Delicious it was but early nights all round - I’m being picked up at 5:30 to get back to Stansted for the return flight - literally a flying visit.
