LONDON CALLING
Taxi at 10am. Train left Newcastle at 11am. Arrived King's Cross at 2pm. Quick walk across to St Pancras to catch 2. 20pm train to Burgess Hill. Arrived Burgess Hill at 3.30pm. My accommodation is quite near the station. It's an apartment with a lovely kitchen, bathroom, lounge area with a bedroom on a mezzanine floor. Quickly hung up my clothes and then walked to Becky and Mike's.
It was very warm and my back was aching so I had to walk slowly. Got there by the deadline of 5pm. Quick turnaround and I was back out again with Becky to collect Astrid from nursery by 5.30pm. It was a trial run for tomorrow as I will be picking her up by myself so I had to learn the route and the procedure at the nursery for the pick up.
Walked back home with Astrid in her buggy. She played and we had some fun. Mike was working in London today and when he got home he cooked a meal. Then it was bedtime for Astrid. I was in charge as I will have to do the bedtime routine myself tomorrow. (Becky and Mike are at a wedding tomorrow and won't be back till late) Bedtime went well. I read books and Astrid nodded off. Apparently I managed to settle her quicker than usual.
I've added a collage of photos of Astrid.
We watched the Scotland v Switzerland match and then Mike gave me a lift back to my apartment.
I took my blip shot as the train to Burgess Hill passed through Blackfriars Station. You get a great view of some London buildings, the River Thames and bridges. The Wide Wednesday theme is "Song Title". I've chosen "London Calling" by The Clash. Thanks to RockArea for hosting.
