Waterfoot Sunrise

Once a month I organise a work party at the church to clear up the grounds or carry out any other work needing done. As they are mostly outdoors, I am usually pleased when the weather is good. However, today the weather was just too good to be working outside.

Never mind, we pressed on and the good turn out of volunteers got all the tasks finished in less than 2 hours. Everyone seemed to have plans to go for picnics or get their boats out on the water as soon as they got home. All the talk certainly put Mrs B and I in the mood to do something similar. So we dashed home and cleared the car and trailer of tools, got cleaned up and prepared to row round to South Dippen in a small punt we have for a picnic on the beach.

It was simply stunning. The temperature was 24 degrees when we left and it felt quite tropical as we rowed the short distance to the beach from our house, hugging the shoreline as we went as we were letting in a bit of water. When we beached the boat it was like landing on a tropical island. We had the place to ourself and laid back and chilled out. After lunch Mrs B even went for a swim and thoroughly enjoyed it. My summer flu bug gave me a good excuse for not joining her!

Go large and you will just make out the small punt that transported us to this little bit of paradise!
