Arreau Marie and market

We knew all week today was likely to be wet so it was booked for a rest day, and conveniently also the local market day.
Arreau is not far north of here and is a lovely small town where 2 rivers join.
We'd intended a fairly early night last night as we were rather tired but the weather put paid to that. No sooner had we turned off the lights than a tremendous thunderstorm started. Thunder echoed round and round, some cracked overhead, lightning flickered almost continually and there was a brief deluge before more normal rain. It must have lasted about an hour and then sleep took time to come.
It's rained much of the day since, though Arreau wasn't too bad, with rumbling thunder and bursts of sun so the wander round the town was all our exercise - though the wallet was stretched as almost everything was expensive.
A much needed sleep after lunch, then reading and sewing, with pauses to photograph the changing view - extra.
Should be better tomorrow.
