An ordinary life....

By Damnonii

The moment just before...

...the pigeon realised Lola had spotted her.  And the moment after :-)))

Today has been a bit of a topsy turvy day where I haven't really settled into anything.  Some chores, some painting, some crochet, some reading, chatting to a friend and making arrangements for Lola to be trimmed.  That's well overdue!

Alan and Penny went out for a run in the car and ended up at the Green Welly Shop at Tyndrum.  I believe he bought something but he's not ready to tell me what!  lol

D enjoyed his first round of golf with Keith in ages as Keith's been on holiday then we were on holiday.  Seeing Keith and Mairi for lunch on Saturday then hopefully it will be warm enough to come back to ours and sit in the garden to have home made treacle scones.  I've never made them before but have a wee notion for them.

Dinner was a meal from the Roasting Tin Cookbook that I haven't made before, roast potatoes, chorizo and onion.  It was absolutely delicious.

After dinner I went out to the garden as it was such a pleasant evening.  Very mild.  Our two pigeons were being very playful and very brave as they were jumping about the grass very close to Lola.  She was too engrossed in sniffing so her head was down and didn't notice them, but I knew she eventually would.  As soon as the pigeon clocked Lola's interest, she was off!  :-))

So happy with how the garden is looking.  Everything is thriving.  It's definitely responding to the extra TLC over the last year. The honeysuckle has more blooms this year than in the seven years since it was planted, but dismayed to see creepy crawlies in the flowers.  Pic in extras.  Any advice on how to get rid of them gratefully received.

Got a phone call from Gynae today offering an appointment on Monday. After months of me chasing them, it seems my doctor's letter has finally got some attention!

Sad to receive news today of the death of a friend's brother.  By strange coincidence Gordon was in the same year at school as our friend David who passed away earlier this week, both just 60.  Far too young.
