Ushaw College
Today myself, Mr YB, my sister and brother-in-law went to visit Ushaw College in County Durham. The College used to be seminary but closed due to there not being enough priests to train. It now has a close connection with Durham University and it is open to the public. There are beautiful gardens, a stunning chapel, cafe etc.
Throughout the year many different events take place in the building and extensive grounds. At the moment there is an exhibition of old wedding dresses - absolutely up my street. My sister and I really enjoyed the exhibition and Mr YB and BIL tolerated it. We also had a look in the chapel, had tea and cake and a walk and sit in the gardens. The weather was beautiful. Ideal for a day out.
I have attached an extra of some of the dresses - an Indian one, a one from the 1980's (I think) and something more to wear for a winter wedding.
Let's hope this lovely weather continues. Have a good weekend.
