Look Up challenge - results

Well done on reaching new heights with your many and varied entries for the June Community challenge.

Our cover picture by McCaviti captures the 3 metre high sculpture "Blue Perspective" surveying the Gold Coast, Australia. The pelican was an unexpected extra but adds great dimension to the picture!

Bird life was well represented, including a beautiful woodpecker, this cute little great tit, a majestic kestrel and ducks in flight by simplemoments.

More surprising perhaps was to be looking up the nostrils of Ozzy the bull, resident of Birmingham New Street station. There was another unusual character towering over his fans, and we loved this wacky green selfie by tookie. Blipper heanku's subjects had to look up, as did Bb in Looking up and Down! The Most-Fun-Had award has to go to this collage.

Buildings were a popular choice, and rightly so, given the impressive gleaming angles and sharp lines of modern architecture. Conversely, Glasgow University (built 1891) looked spectacular against a bright blue sky, and a medieval church had gearoidin looking up at the ceiling. Another fabulous ceiling was captured by Freuchie and there was a fun living wall spotted in Newcastle. Wonderful perspective of an observation tower here and an abstract take on brickwork by catoblips.

Let's look to the skies with stormy weather, a fantastic colourful flypast and one of many gorgeous beach scenes. Two unique monos hit the spot - mambo with her feet up and welshmaid50's simple washing line.

The aptly-named SkyAboveMe1 looked up at a magnificent Redwood tree. Other plants that made the shortlist included a bougainvillea and Clematis. We particularly liked how the light hit this little flower by DawnP.

Wish we could mention you all, but you can see all the entries by searching #BCLookup.

Signing off with our three favourites:

HappyCat - "So"
ApolloFly - "A walk on the beach"
freespiral - "Decked overall"

See you in August!
