Friday: #30DaysWild - Calendula Cocktail

Windy this morning, some bright spells but mostly overcast - rain forecast later, so I sorted out some flower seeds which I scattered in the “new corner” amongst the plants added a week ago -

White alyssum, Calendula “Snow Princess” and “Pacific Beauty”, Convolvulus tricolor, digitalis, silene latifolia, Corncockle, scabious “Snowmaiden”, Aster and Corn marigold - added a sprinkling of vermiculite over the seeds, to remind myself where I’d sown them!

Sweet Ciceley Seed Heads: identified using “Flora Incognita” app, which I’d forgotten I had! The seed heads are quite distinctive, these have been picked and are drying in a paper bag to add to my collection for this year’s Cottage Garden Seed Swap along with the tiny blue cranesbill - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3232436101981407821

MrD had ordered a collection of “Red Hot Pokers” (Kniphofia) for our garden, I’ve potted them up and will take good care of them - there were clumps of them growing here when we first bought one house but disappeared over the years :-(
