Celebration Day
Year 11 graduation today for Annie, even though it feels only about two minutes since she started. She’s been vice president of the student parliament this year and therefore needed to make a speech. It was written very last minute because she didn’t know exactly how to say what she wanted to say. However it was beautifully written, from the heart, and full of emotion, capturing all the pride and love of being part of this year group, and sadness that they’re all moving on. She’s a born communicator, and although she truly loves science I hope she finds space for writing and language somewhere in her future career. Also - how brave to stand up at 16 in a theatre full of adults and teenagers, and speak like that?! I certainly couldn’t have done it.
Prom and after prom party followed in the evening, and I’m told both were well-behaved affairs. Performing arts teenagers aren’t as wild as some others it seems!
Three more weeks and four dance performances to go…
