It's not easy being Vegetarian
I'm not, by the way. Vegetarian, that is. I don't eat a lot of meat and insist that what I do eat is well reared and had a good life. It costs more, but then we don't eat a lot of it. But I do like fish and good vegetarian meals. The trouble is, you can boil a carrot in no time and call it a vegetarian meal but if you want something that tastes really good it involves lots of chopping. So that's what I've been doing today. Chopping onions, garlic, aubergines, red peppers, green peppers, mint, parsley and cucumber. Did I mention tomatoes? It was worth it though. These might look like Greggs reject sausage rolls but they are actually Patlıcanlı rulo börek, or filo rolls with aubergine, pepper and onion, served with Tabbouleh and Tzatziki. Just a shame it's all eaten and finished in 15 minutes after all that chopping.
