Peña Oroel

Spain, Day 3, Peña Oroel

We did indeed climb the mountain from day 1 today (Peña Oroel). The sun had returned to Jaca today so we thought we would climb the Peña before it warms up later in the week. We took a longer route with more climbing but was a good decision as we saw not a single walker (just a few lunatic runners )all day. Surrounded by all sorts of amazing flora and fauna it was a joy to be up in such high meadows.

To add a level of drama the last few hundred metres of climb were being obscured on a fairly regular basis by fast moving mist that would wisp its way past now and again.
