Mallos de Riglos

Spain 2024, Day 4, Mallos de Riglos

We were going to head deeper into the Pirineos today but the forecast changed overnight so instead we headed in the other direction to these incredible rocks. The English translation is mallets which is quite apt as they are seriously hefty with an over 300m rise from the ground below.

We decided to do the rather chunky walk around them. It was only about 6km long but the height gain was rather steep, gaining over 400m in just over 2km, there were a lot of very puffed out looking people as we got closer to the top. You can just see the path at the base of the left hand rock.

The little white blobs are poo stains from the Egyptian vulture and Griffon vulture nests. There are also some rock climbers as well but they are probably only about a pixel
