Hot, still very, very, hot
This is supposed to be the final day of the heatwave, which people will be glad for. I can do without the 40º stuff, but I don’t mind the heat. Still, there is no denying that it makes me a little more lethargic (which ought not to be possible, but…)
Lunch with Peter – and old friend from my International Development days at FCM. We hadn’t seen each other for a long, long time… so had a lot to catch up on, not all of it pleasant on his side. Still, things are good now, and it was great to catch up.
In the evening, we decided to go to the movies – and so drove to South Keys to watch “IF”. A mixed experience – we were the only people in the entire room, which was great, but the sound was crap, which wasn’t. It had an effect on how we saw the film, obviously, and was not helped by the doors to the auditorium not being closed and the noise from other auditoria, in which the sound was obviously working perfectly, being allowed to enter.
But it was a night out and we enjoyed it. The film was good – a nice modern fairy story – and the lead actress Cailey Fleming is going to be a future star. She has one of those faces that shines for the camera. Ottawacker Jr. seemed to enjoy It immensely.
