Coincidentally at the supermarket this afternoon, light and power were both in need as there was a sudden power cut. Little children excitedly held their parents' phone torches and shoplifters rubbed their hands in glee. The poor staff had to manually price and add up shoppers' baskets, and could only then take cash without giving change.
