Camoflague

I spotted this bird under a tree close to our garden. We call these spruce hens, but I think the official name is Spruce Grouse or Blue Grouse. She had 5 chicks not far behind. The chicks were large, having grown most of their regular feathers with only a little baby down on top. I got one photo of a chick that had flown up into a tree, but I chose this one of the concerned mother. As she walked off into the woods, I could barely see her even though I knew she was right there.
