OH HAPPY DAY!
What a fantastic way to finish off a great weekend by witnessing the baptism by full immersion of our dear friend, Louise!
The whole service was wonderful - the chosen songs were uplifting and sung with gusto by the Worship Group and congregation, the music was lovely, the short sermon was “spot-on”, the actual baptism was great, the Communion, as always very thought provoking and coffee and cake afterwards, provided by Louise was amazing. There wasn’t much cake left at the end and although I took a slice, I gave it to my husband!
I had a hard job choosing a few photographs for my collage today - I took 114 so had to whittle them down to a few and hope that these will give a “flavour” of the day.
The large photograph at the top left was after Louise had been baptised by Steve and then the top right shows her actually being baptised - next is Louise having been brought up from the water after baptism. Then Louise and three other members were received into membership of Gorse Hill Baptist Church and you can see Steve offering Louise the “right hand of fellowship”. It is such a joy to belong to a Church where being part of the “family” is celebrated, so for those who have no family or who don’t see theirs very often - there is always a welcome every Sunday and in fact, any other day, because as you know, lots goes on at GHBC!
I hadn’t realised how beautiful the flowers were, so had to take a shot of those and last, but not least, are the feet of two of Louise’s three daughters - the ones on the right being Converse - something I am going to treat myself to one day! I did ask S. if she had any old ones and we laughed when she said she took a Size 7 because I take a Size 6, but said I would be happy to stuff the toes with cotton wool so they fitted me!!
All in all a wonderful time was had and it was indeed a very happy day - after coffee and cake we went out for a roast meal with Louise, her family and some friends - so now we are home and Mr. HCB has been watching cricket on TV - with England doing well so far and I have been trying to sort out some of my photographs.
Hope you have all had a great weekend so far - and that you have a wonderful week. M xx
