Summer Squalls
I got out whilst the going was good. After periods of heavy rain and with more to follow, the ground was already sodden. Good for the prairie though, which is going gung-ho now. In amongst the grasses and sedges, leaves bent double into submission, raindrops amplify their texture.
Extra: Happy Times. A white breasted nuthatch fledgling played around in the branches of a dead elm. Hardly still for a second.
