A Day At A Time.

San Martin Empurias

I came here twice with my parents when I was a small boy. The village has remained virtually unspoiled in the past half century and I even recognised the bar where we sat for drinks in the square. See extra.

This is a place we may return to one day, close as it is to Barcelona airport.

After a bit of a mooch round we headed off to the Costa Dorada and our next stop, Oropesa del Mar.

As we were having our supper at the chiringuito two minutes walk from our apartment, the full moon rose behind us out of the sea. See extra.

Earlier we had arrived in Oropesa del Mar and after sorting ourselves out in the ninth floor apartment we had rented overlooking the beach, we went into town and hired two bikes.

We then cycled 18 km along the Via Verde, the longest and best cycle track in all Spain, apparently. It was very spectacular and excellent exercise. I was ready for a beer and some food after that. More extras.

One more stop in the hinterland of central Spain tomorrow and then home.
