Broad-Bodied Chaser (male)
Another long - and hugely enjoyable, if rather hot - walk on the Magdalen Hill Butterfly Reserve. I saw quantities of marbled whites, a lot of meadow browns, two common blues and a skipper - but of the others, the fritilleries and the 'aristocrats' nothing (except one red admiral, which made me cheer). Really, what has gone wrong with this year?
However, I was pleased to come home with this broad-bodied chaser. There were three or four of them circling endlessly on the newly-dug pond. It was good to see them there.
That's about it for today. I had a long walk home as the bus failed to stop for me, but at least K had managed to unpack the grocery shop by the time I got in. Honestly, the complications of modern life ;)))
Enjoy your evenings, lovely blipfriends xx
