Off on an adventure up the A30
The A30 in Cornwall between Chiverton Cross & Carland Cross has been up-graded to a dual carriageway. Today it opened. Yay!!! This has been an ongoing project for at least 3 years and last year, every time my human went to pick up friends at Newquay Airport, it took 1.5-2 hours (for a journey that should take about 50 mins). It's been an absolute nightmare. But today was the day that it finally opened..............
Ann said that we had to go and drive on it to see if it made any difference to our journey times. She said we would go out and have a little adventure to Padstow. Wow!!! It made a HUGE difference to our journey time. We got to Padstow in just over an hour. How fabulous is that?
Ann likes Padstow. She likes the shops and restaurants and she likes the walks that she can do from there.
Today we walked through the town and then along the coastal path to the lifeboat station (which is about 3 miles out of town). We walked back along the beach because the tide was out. I was off my lead for pretty much the whole walk. Ann had brought a packed lunch with her, but she didn't share?! How mean was that? Fortunately 'Mountain Warehouse' had a bowl of water outside so I was able to re-hydrate myself. When we got back to the town, we sat on a seat overlooking the harbour and just chillaxed for a while. It was lovely.
…...............And then on the way home, we popped into Padstow's Tesco. That was definitely not very lovely. What a dismal place?! All Ann wanted was some mince & potatoes. She's got a friend coming to stay next week and thought she'd make some little individual Cottage pies to go in the freezer. Padstow Tesco's had NO mince. Actually they didn't have a lot of things. A lot of the refrigerator shelves were completely empty. WHY? Ann bought 6 bottles of wine. Lol!!!
Zoomed home on the A30. The roadworks have been a nightmare for the last few years but hopefully now, everything will be hunky dory?!
We've had a lovely day out but we're both a bit tired now.
Have to get up at 6.30am tomorrow to do the 7am sea swim.
Toodles. xx
