Noises from the SW Front

Boston Harbor

A leisurely breakfast followed by a pleasant drive down the Massachusetts Turnpike to Boston. I've always liked that highway, especially the section between Palmer and Sturbridge. That part of the state is heavily wooded and, even from the highway, is lush and beautiful when there are leaves on the trees. It does look like a moonscape in the winter but it's been so wet this year, it's almost a rain forest right now.

Crab cake, lobster roll and sancerre for lunch at Legal Seafoods, followed by a jaunt down to the harbor. Lo and behold, there was a wee outdoor bar on one of the piers and, since it was a cooler day thanks to overcast skies and a slight breeze, a pint of Sam Adams Summer Ale seemed appropriate. A leisurely walk across town to the hotel and a wee bit more Sam Summer finished off the evening quite nicely. All in all, too relaxed to remember to blip.
