Bougainvillea

We cycled to the old town of Bormes-les-Mimosas  today.
It is indeed very pretty and lived up to my expectations, with little winding streets, shops , shutters and cafes.
Also flowers.
It is jam packed with Bougainvillea and other delightful colourful Mediterranean flora, but sadly we have missed mimosa season. I should imagine it’s spectacular in the spring.
I looked up whether we  could grow mimosa at home. It is possible in the UK but  It likes a south coast mild frost free environment , so that’s us out on several levels.
Similarly, bougainvillea.
We had a delicious lunch of sea bass and rice on a high terrace overlooking the coast and the Hyeres Islands which we went to a couple of years ago.
So things are looking up.
Tomorrow we shall try to cycle along the coast a bit and see if there’s a suitable beach to sit on for a while.
