NEW BENCH

There's a new bench at the new viewing site along the backside of The Carousel at Road America.  It's the latest effort of our chainsaw artist.  Here, my friend Peter, a racing magazine photographer who shoots here often, is resting his aching feet in the close company of the local Sasquatch who has his arm around Peter's shoulder.  In fact, if you took off Peter's hat he bears a remarkable resemblance to the Sasquatch himself. He's very hairy too.

For the uninitiated, here is WIKI info regarding the legendary Sasquatch:

"Sasquatch, a large, hairy, humanlike creature believed by some people to exist in the northwestern United States and western Canada. It seems to represent the North American counterpart of the Himalayan region's mythical monster, the Abominable Snowman, or Yeti."

There are all sorts of Wisconsin legends including the venerable Hodag from the Rhinelander, WI area and, of course, the Great Flying Wampuss reputed to live around the Otter Pond in my own village of Glenbeulah, which also is famous in the Guiness Book of World Records for having the scariest cemetery in the United States.  Perhaps the GFW shows up there occasionally too.
