Burgh

Today was day two of our Scottish trip.  After having a wander around Earlston this morning and reading about the local historical character -Thomas Rhymer - whose claim to fame was making up predictions, we headed to burgh.

Got a bit worried near the park and ride as I didn't realise the Royal Highland Show was on, luckily it was just the roundabout that was clogged up and there was loads of space at the P&R.  Me and L headed into the centre on the tram, had a mosy up and down the royal mile, L had her first bubble tea outside parliament then we went for our booked trip to the castle.

Being such a huge tourist attraction, I expected more from the castle, there really wasn't that much to see and it definitley wasn't worth the queue to see the Scottish Crown Jewels.  The views were pretty fantastic though.

Pal L was keen to also see the Britannia, so we hopped back on the tram to the docks, wandered around the 'ocean terminal' and went to look at the Queen's old boat from the balcony.  We decided against spending another £40 on tickets to go look round so it was back on the tram to Leith walk for some food, before ice cream in the centre and back home.  Busy day!
