New Wheels

Late blip that I meant to upload last night, but got waylaid.

This young man was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy four years ago aged 6, with the news that he would be in a wheelchair by the time he was 9. Well, thanks to treatment he is receiving, he is still mobile, aged 10 1/2. His mum is fundraising constantly to raise money for this treatment and his mobility equipment not available on the NHS.

On a weekend away, we were donated an adapted trike for Harry to replace his current one, which has become worse for wear. Imagine his joy when he found out he could ride this with his mum walking beside him on his way to school. I am proud to have met his mum following personal life changes a year ago (won’t go into them here, but those who know… know.

How long will Harry remain mobile for? Who knows, but as long as he is able to receive the treatment, we’ll keep him on his feet, or biking as long as we can.
