A nice station, no bull
Backblip:
And so, our continental sojourn at an end, the Ottawackers went their separate ways; Mrs. Ottawacker flew back to Ottawa to face a mounting flow of emails and work issues, Ottawacker Jr. and I flew on to the UK to fulfil family obligations.
We flew, via Lufthansa and its ubiquitous baggage loss capacity, into Birmingham - but only after having flown into Frankfurt first. This is where Lufthansa lost our luggage.
Arrived in Birmingham, we filled out the forms, moved on to the excellent New Street station (having cleared the jovial customs man at International), bought some food and waited for the train that would take us down to Totnes to meet the family. A few concerns at being out with Ottawacker Jr. on a British train at close to midnight, but he weathered the trip better than I did.
Of course, the question remains, why is there a bull in the middle of Birmingham's New Street Station? Apparently, there is a reason!
