London morning
Woke up in a new part of London, where I’ve never stayed before , still in a Premier Inn hub but one where I had a room with a window. And a view. Well, of another window but an old one so…win! I slept well and set out at around 8.30 and the sun was making everything sparkle, this pic is right outside the hotel and I like the concrete framing The Shard across the river. I walked to Monument station and enjoyed the shiny fish topping old Billingsgate market (extra, not a great pic but a great fish) and then the lovely Monument itself which always moves me. It was a byword for tall in post Restoration literature and comes up several times (can’t remember any of the quotes so might have to go and do some deep dive Googling). I swung past Pudding Lane feeling very ‘who will buy” (Oliver) and merrily thanked a street sweeper who looked at me as if I was a mad old bag lady. Which. Maybe.
Anyway early in the office and spent the morning catching up before I went to Unit for the Grade of ep 5. All looking lovely!
Managed to finish in time to get to Waterloo for the early train that was cancelled but got home in time to meet Rachel who is watering the plants whilst we’re away. Got home to an empty house as V and Woody have set off for Scotland.
Recalibrated stuff and repacked a small bag.
