It’s All About Being Together
We had a deluge of rain last night but the storm wasn’t bad here. At home, they say we received over 3” of rain and terrible winds. Power poles were literally knocked over into roads so folks lost power. One road had so many poles down, it was closed for several hours. Kim said only one of Jamie’s flower pots turned over but his pool cover was really sagging. She pumped the water off for him. I was up at 6:15 to make turkey wraps for lunches. All I had to do for their breakfast was assemble the sausage, egg and cheese biscuits. Garmin let us down all day. We had a little problem finding the correct parking lot at the fields based on its directions. Jamie directed us to the nearest one to our group’s tent city and hubby moved our vehicle and unloaded our stuff. We were still on time for the opening play. Jamie (top left square) stood at the fence for each game. Hubby and I found a spot on the top row of bleachers. Our boys were in over their heads for this tournament. The other teams were definitely in a higher skill bracket. We lost all three games. The purpose of the tournament, like the one a few weeks ago, was for college recruitment. But for us, it was for spending together for these three days. We will have only one game tomorrow at 11:00. Brooklyn will then head to NJ for five days, Jamie and Parker will drive back to Md and hubby and I will enjoy a few quiet days camping. My original collage had both Parker and Brooklyn napping but I like her with the ice cream better. Parker was tired after playing out in the hot sun. On the way back to the campground, Garmin did it again. We somehow got on the PA turnpike heading for New York. It seemed like forever before we had our first opportunity to exit. When we left the lacrosse field, we had 29 miles to travel. After that fiasco, we still had 25 miles to go. That is when Brooklyn decided to nap. She probably worried about our reactions. But as I told her, we use these opportunities to enjoy scenery we otherwise wouldn’t have gotten to see. And we did go through luxurious neighborhoods, quaint old towns, farm country, etc. We were in the best part of the Philadelphia suburbs. We have seen the “other side of town” on previous trips. Not so nice. We found a diner not far from the campground and enjoyed a fun meal, complete with ice cream. We are going to cool off this evening and get ready to do it again tomorrow. We have absolutely no tv channels so we won’t be watching the debate. Not a big deal for either of us. Hope you had a winning day. Stay safe. Thanks for all your visits, hearts, stars and sweet comments lately. “Time is one of the most precious gifts you can give someone and it's one of the pillars of every relationship.” - Michael Bliss
