Sea Cloud Spirit
My blip today is of the windjammer,Sea Cloud Spirit berthed in Leith, and now currently sailing towards its next port of call, Stavanger in Norway.
The Sea Cloud Spirit was built-in 2020 and inaugurated in 2021. Weighing 5,431 tonnes and measuring 138 metres in length, she is the largest sailing ship in the world. She was also the first sailship to have an elevator installed. Boasting five decks – four accessible to passengers – she can carry up to 136 guests and 85 crew.
As well as a visit to Leith, Martin and I visited the Apple shop geniuses to see if they fix the Apple Pencil, which they could not. Another piece of plastic (made in China) for landfill. That said they did offer to sell us a new one at a slightly discounted price. It makes me wonder if we are serious about saving the environment, as the commercialism and throwaway society, with is carbon foot seems to continue unabated.
Rant over … I hope you have enjoyed today.
