The Far Side

Spent the whole day working on the far side - so called because it’s beyond the burn running through the garden and because we ignored it until about 3 years ago. It’s been a massive project for us with perimeter walls being rebuilt, trees and ivy removed and trimmed back. The work involved diggers visiting the site 3 times and paths being laid with plans in place for a circular building at the heart of the space. Planting is more or less complete now and we wait for the carefully chosen trees and other plants to mature. In the meantime, we weed and water the beds and enjoy the dramatic sunsets.
