Saturday: Sam and Nikki

It was Nikki’s birthday yesterday so K cooked up a storm in her honour today. Nikki, on the right, is Sam’s mum and runs Belize Bird Rescue, an amazing organisation that rescues birds from all kinds of situations all across the country. We played some pool afterwards and all I can say is that I was roundly trounced. Sam is one half of G&S, of Corkers’ fame.

On another note, there is a lot of anxiety about Hurricane Beryl, the first named storm of the season.  It’s currently barreling towards Barbados, where my boss and colleagues with whom I work closely are located.  After that, it’s apparently intensifying and heading towards us.  Hopefully it will either lose power or veer off.
