Waiting

The journey home was smooth, although the last flight, London to Edinburgh, was overbooked. The ground staff asked for volunteers to come back tomorrow morning, or else they would just have to 'randomly' chuck two people off the flight.

There was a time when we had soooo much 'status' with BA that, this statement wouldn't concern me. But no longer. So we sat patiently, staring at our toes, like naughty children, hoping it wouldn't be us!

The taxi ride from the airport was interesting. Having put the route into his sat nav, the driver then proceeded to ignore it. Twice, we suggested his route was taking us further away from home, but he allegedly knew a shortcut. Eventually, we directed him home. We then had to help him add up the fare. I understand there's a shortage of taxi drivers at the moment. Recruitment procedures have been slackened dramatically. Bring back The Knowledge!

It's good to be home, it's good yo be home, it's good to be home..... honest!
