The gardener's lament...
...it's too wet, and what the rain doesn't rot the birds peck at...
Roy's onions and shallots over in Muriel's patch have rotted in the ground, but the broad beans, carrots and lettuce are doing OK.
The tomatoes and cucumber in the loaned greenhouse are also doing well ;)
He planted six lettuces in our garden, and this is all that remains - the slugs and snails can be dealt with via environmentally friendly pellets, but the birds get in however he protects the plants, and have a feast day!
That's celeriac and celery in the patch behind, and the parsnips, fennel & radishes are also thriving.
All in all, Roy's winning in the garden - but it's an ongoing battle ;)
