Pamiers
Back blip
All packed up and away by 9.30am, which gave us plenty of time to get to Toulouse. We also wanted to be away as there were to be road closures near our flat later in the morning because of cycle races.
It was rather grey, and a bit cooler, with low cloud, so not a bad day for travelling.
Just before we got to the toll motorway we turned off into Pamiers to see what there was and discovered some bell-towers and a couple of other old buildings. We had a short wander and just as I was taking this pic a thunderstorm started. It didn't last long and we found some shelter so didn't get too wet.
Returned the hire car at the airport (some damage to a tyre and don't yet know the cost) and then had ages to wait before our flight, at least it gave us time to eat the lunch we'd bought at the bakery before leaving.
Another long wait at CDG (but not as long as those waiting to go to Bogota whose flight was about 4 hours late) and a 3rd wait at Edinburgh before the bus to Dundee - but on arrival we got a taxi instantly. Just as we arrived in Edinburgh we had a message from daughter and family who were supposed to be in Croatia but their 2nd flight was cancelled and then they were told as they were about to board the 1st one they'd been rebooked for the next day and would be put up in a hotel - they would rather have had the hotel night in Cologne where the transfer was!
The bus was full, a party of 40+ cheerleaders with extras had arrived from Ireland about 9.30pm and hadn't anything organised to get them to Dundee, some had to take a taxi as the driver made sure all booked passengers got on first.
Home about midnight and almost straight to bed.
