Sunday
Last day of June. The sun wasn’t a demon but it shone for our walk to Portnamurroch. It’s about 7km walk, initially on the little road then on grassy paths. The views stunning and the sea turquoise.
We had some good chat and laughs as we walked along. That’s the great thing about walking, it all comes very naturally and it’s so good especially when every direction is a view .
There was a couple of other people there. A mum and her daughter were swimming (eeeek) and their golden lab was having a fab time swimming after them. I did mention to them how brave they were and she said it was exhilarating!
We had our picnic sitting on the rocks and the boys went for a climb or the rocks further over. I just sat and listened to the water come in and each wave brought more and more white and beige shells and the sun shining on the wet sand making millions of sparkles. Stunning, with views over to Eigg and Rum.
We recreated a photo we took three years ago at the waters edge . Taller, more wrinkles and greys between us and the boys and the new addition too! Lucca loved the sand and managed a paddle in the sea.
Walk back to the car, and on to Mallaig for some supplies at the Co-Op.
After tea we had a game of UNO, sometimes some shouting is Involved, mostly by me :)
