Learning The Ropes

I seem drawn to movement at the moment. Anything that moves catches my eye. The problem is, that doesn't always make for a good photo.

I'm not capturing the actual movement, in fact I'm waiting for the animal (usually) to stop moving to get a sharp(er) image. But the main problem is, I'm forgetting to consider the other elements in the frame and particularly light.

Even in this frame, the goldfinch which attracted me is lost amongst the similar coloured vegetation. Okay, there is harmony and a sense of light and repetition of yellows. So not all bad. But accidental, not considered, instinctual, maybe.
