Wade-ing

I took the "first steps" and then a few thousand more to do more longer walks/hikes off road this morning when I headed over to the Sma' Glen with members of the Tryst Walking Group.

Our route took us from Newton Bridge to Amulree onto Newton of Ballinreigh and then back to Amulree following one of General Wade's roads. It was led by CL, a local historian who has spent time researching Wade's roads and it is was interesting to have different features - bridges, culverts, notches and double dykes pointed out as we walked along.

VC came back to mine afterwards so we could continues some more on our Blair Athol Railway Workers Projects. It is interesting what studying the lives of 8 individuals can reveal.
