Izumi

I had a brief but very rewarding conversation with my Japanese friend this afternoon. She has just come back from Dublin where she has seen Akihiko Okamura’s photographic work, taken during the troubles. It's an extraordinary passage of work. She was particularly moved by the story behind a crate of full milk bottles, which, empty would provide the vessels for petrol bombs.

I am very privileged to photograph her as Izumi is a fine photographer in her own right, leaving her home country to  photograph the band 'Suede" (and this time Elbow too).
