Roses and daisies
After walking along the road to the post box with a birthday card, I continued around the village. I haven't walked much for a month, as sciatica has often made it too uncomfortable for me to get far, despite advice to keep moving; now, the pain has dulled a lot and I'm trying hard to return to my (almost) daily walks, which I have missed both physically and emotionally. The village was lovely in the sunshine, with flowers everywhere: bright poppies, mallow and moon daisies on the roadside verges, roses round cottage doors and windows, colourful window boxes and hanging baskets outside the pubs, and in the churchyard, moon daisies and clover among the grass, softening the old lichen encrusted headstones.
