Back up North
Home now after a whistle stop tour, but three very good catch-up’s with friends and family.
Saw Debby this morning for breakfast. Greg came back over from Hemel on his way to an appointment in Letchworth and dropped off the bits he forgot to bring last night.
Then it was back to the train station for what should have been a quicker journey home. However there was a delay at York, due to an earlier ‘incident’ further up the line.
The train manager explained very sensitively what the delay was about and of course, no one complained at all, just quietly got on with making alternative arrangements for onward travel etc.
When we did get into York, it was slightly chaotic. Waiting for re-arranged platforms, trains to move off to allow other platforms to be used etc etc.
I managed to change my ticket to have the last leg of the journey on the Trans Pennine Express, so fortunately was only about an hour late getting home.
While I was waiting at Stevenage this morning, I faffed around with the settings on the phone camera, put it on long exposure and got my blip.
