Embalse de Respomuso

Day 6, Embalse de Respomuso.

We couldn't help ourselves so headed off to Sallent de Gállego to do one of our toughest planned walks. It certainly lived up to that with over 750m of height, balancing across waterfalls, clambering around boulders and looking at some great snow patches.

After 4 hours of constant climbing we reached this view. A beautiful lake surrounded by snowcapped mountains which are a lot bigger than they look in the phone pic. The building on the left is a refugio which offers food and drink to the weary traveller but also bunks for those who want to head up into the the higher mountains. We spent a pleasant time up here and then headed back down again getting back to the car about 7.30pm

Needless to say I've got far better camera photos than these phone ones.
