Poppies
I wanted to go to the valley today to pick up the plants that are needed for jobs for this week, but they had a rainfall warning out for 30 - 50 mm and possibly more. The radar wasn't showing much this morning, it had the rain moving out by 10. Apparently the radar was wrong. Since they were only calling for 10 - 15 mm of rain for Bridgewater, I decided to head for the south shore. I checked the radar again at one point and it was showing more rain for the south shore than it was for the valley. I was tempted to head cross country to the valley, but decided not to take the chance.
The occasional shower thru out the day, but nothing major. I stopped at 3 garden centers and filled the back of the truck. I stopped at Arby's for lunch, the only Arby's left in Nova Scotia.
There was a 4th garden center that I stopped at, I have gotten to know the owner over the years. She has a landscaping business, similar to my own. Her daughter looks after that part of it now, as G is 73. G stays at the garden center and takes care of things there. There is a guy in her area that sells Japanese maples, magnolias and dogwoods. I have also gotten to know him over the years, he is my 'go to' guy when I want Japanese maples for a job. I bought a Japanese maple to use on a job later this month.
G couldn't talk long today, she had family coming to visit. I did take a walk around her garden to take a few photos, since it wasn't raining right then. I should get her to save me some seeds from this poppy.
Hopefully the weather will be dry tomorrow so I can go over to Halifax for the Kite Festival.
