Red Kite #65
Today was another stunning day and very enjoyable indeed. We spent the morning at Threave Nature Reserve and got to have distant views of both peregrines on the Castle and Ospreys from the viewing point.
But today's main event that I have been looking to all trip was a visit to Bellymack Hill Farm to see the Red Kites feeding. They get fed at 2pm on the dot every day and they can obviously tell the time as they were there well in time whistling away and getting impatient.
Right on cue the roadkill and meat that they are fed was thrown out on the grass and uncovered on the table and they swooped in in great numbers.
As you can imagine, I took hundreds of shots, most of them weren't in focus but this one was my favourite of the first batch I've looked at.
I love the interaction between the two kites even though neither of them had any food to be stolen.
