Victoire
This evening I gave Django a walk down the old railway and, after the events in France yesterday, it seemed appropriate to visit the memorial to the 300 Napoleonic POWs who died in the camp at Valleyfield. It also had a neutral Turf zone - one that's not been taken in a round - so was worth a bonus of 50 points. Although it was a fair evening then, we later got soaked.
Earlier, I'd spent the day responding negatively but politely to the no-hopers who had expressed interest in the PhD studentship I'd advertised yesterday, and engaging with the three that look acceptable: one Indian, one Spaniard, and a Brazilian. I also wrote the text for the second HiGHS newsletter, inserting it into the skeleton that И had prepared for me. Tomorrow I will get back to programming.
