It took until mid-afternoon before I started programming because, in the morning, I was delayed by other activities. One was continuing to handle the fall-out from the PhD advert, with the Brazilian looking ever more exciting. The other was prompted by an email from the Head of School making me a reasonable offer in principle to drop to 50%. Once I'd got proper definitions of my duties, I agreed, although I still think that the School is getting a very good deal. Financially it should be fine, as I'll can earn almost twice my current salary from an external body in the next twelve months. That funding may not be extended, but I've only got four or five years to work, and I'll have more time to work on HiGHS.

First thing I'd given Django a walk on a dull and damp morning, and this evening I'm watching the Spain Vs France game, hoping for various reasons  that France wins!
