Marian Jubilee Year
Today we came to a very special mass, it was the end of the Marian Jubilee Year and the archbishop, the bishops and the parish priests presided the mass. There were about 300 hundred other priests and many sisters (nuns) as well. There’s no words to describe the feeling of such solemn celebration, the closing of the indulgence door. The choir and the organ player were fabulous. I could feel my mom’s spirit, she would have love to be there, she loved to sing the “Our Father” prayer and that’s exactly what happened today! I felt very sentimental. The basilica was packed (inside and out), outside they placed huge tents and a couple of big screens with speakers so people outside could be part of the solemn mass. Outside, there was a wind band as well, they were playing beautifully too! Someone asked them to play “Huapango de Moncayo” which it was a favorite of my mom too.
My sister in law came with us, we enjoyed our day in Patzcuaro, no doubt about it. ;-))
